The study skills course for 1st Years took place on 11th November. It provided a great opportunity for us 1st Years to understand about different study methods. We looked at categories for different ways of discovering which ‘clever level’ you are on. These include ‘word smart’, which means you are great at listening and talking to people.
There was ‘picture smart’, which shows that you have a great imagination and that you enjoy to draw/doodle and many more which were a great help to the students who attended. There was also help with how to lay out your study notes, for example: post it notes to jot down ideas, mind maps for learning the notes and rhymes to jog your memory. Overall it was a very useful talk on how to study better and I would definitely recommend it.
