On Tuesday 7^th October 2008, the three students from each year group elected as Student Council Representatives gathered in the Concert Hall to begin our day of training. 

The day commenced with a drama workshop with Ms. McGurk, to get to know our fellow Council members a bit better, as we’ll have to work alongside each other as a team throughout the year. During the workshop we made our own inventions consisting entirely of ourselves, still life scenes, mimed scenes and played a rather confusing game involving chairs that proved to be a bit of a challenge.

After we’d all gotten to know each other better we raced upstairs to the multimedia room for our long awaited treat – Pizza! After bonding some more over the delicious feast we took a short break for a breath of fresh air. Then we all made our way back to the room for our first meeting as a group with Ms. Mannion and Ms. Daly, during which we were awarded with our Student Council Badges, which were accepted with great pride.

Following this meeting we assembled in the room once again with Ms. Giblin to discuss the aims, objectives and responsibilities of the Student Council. At this stage, we outlined each of the roles within the Council and we will be deciding the positions at our meeting of Wednesday 15th of October. We discussed our plans for the notice board and the achievements of previous Student Councils. We all have high hopes and great ideas for this year and really look forward to it.
