Debating & Public Speaking
Loreto Foxrock enjoys a fine tradition of participation in debating and public speaking, taking part in numerous competitions at junior and senior levels each year, and enjoying great success over the years.

(Eabhan Rowe & Clodagh Harney)
Among the debating events our students compete in are the Loreto Inter-schools' Debates, other Inter-schools' Debates, the AIB Junior Schools' Competition, the UCD L&H Society Competition, the UCD Law Society Mace Debating Competition, the Denny Leinster Schools' Debates, the Oxford Schools' Debating Competition and the Cambridge Schools' Debating Competition. Loreto Foxrock also hosted the annual Loreto MACE debates for several years running.
As well as debating, many students in the school are interested in taking part in public speaking competitions. We participate in the Phil Speaks Competition which is organised by Trinity College, and other competitions, such as the National Forum on Europe.
