As an option for Junior Cert and Leaving Cert exams, this is a wonderful subject and is always an enjoyable experience for the girls. A practical performance is part of these exams (& technology optional at Leaving Cert) and students always enjoy the challenges their solo instruments bring.

All 1st Years are members of a unison - two part choir and prepare for the Department of Education Exam and competition in association with Telecom Eireann. Both the Junior and Senior choirs have been finalists many times.

All Transition Year students are members of a two/three part choir and perform at the Christmas Concert and at TY Prizegiving.

The special Friday choir is offered to students who have a keen interest in singing. This takes place at lunchtime once a week. The choir performs at the Christmas Concert and is also part of the Carol Service in December. This is always a memorable and meaningful service. The Religion, Drama and Music Departments combine for this special occasion.

Membership is open to any student who plays an instrument. At present we have 30 members between strings, woodwind and percussion. Practice is at lunchtime once a week. The orchestra performs at the Christmas Concert. Among its repertoire features recent music, with Uilleann Pipes, including "Mull of Kintyre" and "Galloping Home".
