The policy is drawn up in the context of the Loreto philosophy of education, the Education Act, 1998 and the Equal Status Act, 2000 and the Education for Persons With Special Educational Needs Act, 2004.

The purpose of the school website is to promote the school within the wider community and to facilitate ease of access to parents, students, staff and others to the most up to date information on recent events and activities in the school. It enables the school to publish all relevant information about such topics as its history, curriculum and school policies and it enables staff and students to publish and share their work with peers and each other.
