Congratulations to the Dublin team and to our own Molly Lamb (former student and current coach in Loreto Foxrock) on winning the All Ireland Gaelic football championship on Sun 24th Sept.
Annmarie Lynch (Transition Year) is currently in New Zealand ski racing and returns home on Thursday, 28th September, after spending the summer training and racing in New Zealand as part of her qualification for the 2019 European Youth Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo.
Annmarie has been skiing since she was 3 years old and it is her passion together with Hockey!
Annmarie was selected to represent Ireland at U14 and U16 for 3 consecutive years and competed in the Borruffa Trophy in Andorra. The competition is for International Childrens' National Ski Racing Teams and teams from 34 countries compete in it. Annmarie finished both of these races in the Top 30 in the world which is incredible for a skier from a non-snow nation.
In the photo, Annmarie is racing in what is called Super-G (U16 level) and she is racing at approximately 70km to 90km per hour.
Best of luck to Annmarie from everyone in school. We are all now major ski racing enthusiasts and we very much look forward to following and supporting Annmarie in her sporting endeavours.
Congratulations to Tai Daly on her 2nd place finish in Senior High Jump competition at the Leinster Schools' Finals Championships in Santry on 20th May. Tai will now represent Leinster in the All-Ireland Schools' event in Tullamore on the 3rd June.

Congratulations to Ciara Kelly (1st Year) who came 7th place in the Javelin Throwing in the Leinster Schools' Championships in Santry on Sat 20th May.
Congratulations Tai, Katie and Ciara from everyone in the school community.
Congratulations to Hannah McLoughlin (5th Year) on receiving her Evening Herald Sports Star of the Week award at the annual school sports awards ceremony in the Aviva Stadium on Tues 9th May. Hannah received her prize for her performance with the Leinster U-18 hockey team at the Interprovincial tournament.
Hannah is currently training with the Irish U-21 hockey team in preparation for the European Championships in August.
Congratulations from all of us to Róisin McGovern (4R) who was selected for the Ireland Womens U-17 Soccer Squad who are participating in the European Finals in the Czech Republic. The squad travelled to Pilsen in the Czech Republic on Thursday 27th April and they will stay until Sunday 14th May should Ireland progress to the Final.
This is only the second time Ireland have made it to the Championship Final Stages and is a great achievement. We hope that Roisin thoroughly enjoys the experience of participation in such a prestigious event. It is no doubt a fabulous experience for her.
Below is the URL for the Championship on the UEFA Website and also the link for the Ireland page on the same Website. All very professional and under the auspices of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations).
Congratulations to our 1st Year ‘A’ & 2nd Year ‘A’ Basketball teams on winning the ‘Schools’ East Region Finals’. The Finals took place in the Oblate Hall on Wednesday 22nd March 2017. Well done to both teams and to their fantastic coach Mark Ingle.
Best of luck to both teams in the upcoming ‘Loreto League Finals’.
