Annmarie Lynch (Transition Year) is currently in New Zealand ski racing and returns home on Thursday, 28th September, after spending the summer training and racing in New Zealand as part of her qualification for the 2019 European Youth Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo.
Annmarie has been skiing since she was 3 years old and it is her passion together with Hockey!
Annmarie was selected to represent Ireland at U14 and U16 for 3 consecutive years and competed in the Borruffa Trophy in Andorra. The competition is for International Childrens' National Ski Racing Teams and teams from 34 countries compete in it. Annmarie finished both of these races in the Top 30 in the world which is incredible for a skier from a non-snow nation.
In the photo, Annmarie is racing in what is called Super-G (U16 level) and she is racing at approximately 70km to 90km per hour.
Best of luck to Annmarie from everyone in school. We are all now major ski racing enthusiasts and we very much look forward to following and supporting Annmarie in her sporting endeavours.
