Recently I was highly commended in the Walkers Law Firm Art Competition.  As soon as Ms. Norton told me about this competition,various ideas started running through my head. The theme was "A day in the life of Dublin", so I went home and sketched up a few of my ideas, and then thought what Dublin really is and how would I show that through a painting.

I decided to choose famous people from Dublin: James Joyce, Bono, W.B.Yeats and Kevin Nolan.  I knew I had to choose a Gaelic player as they had recently won the All Ireland football final   I was delighted when I found out I got to the final 15 of the competition. I went to a display of all the pictures in the Walkers office and it was hard to believe the variety of images that can be produced from one sentence.Looking at all the other pictures I do believe the girl who won deserved to win, but all in all I really enjoyed the experience.
