Every year the Readers & Writers Week brings us wonderful speakers from novelists to storytellers. This year, one of the highly anticipated guests is Irish author and journalist, Martina Devlin. She will be giving a talk to 3rd Year students on Tuesday 25th October and we are very excited to hear what she has to say. Martina Devlin began writing fiction after she won a Hennessy Literary Award for her short story 1996 and was shortlisted for the Irish Book of the Year awards twice. She has written many successful novels including “Ship of Dreams”, “The Hollow Heart” and “Be Careful What You Wish For”. As a journalist, she also writes weekly columns for the Irish Independent and the Sunday World Magazine, along with essays that she contributes to RTE Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany. We are sure that Martina Devlin will be a wonderful guest speaker for this year’s annual Readers & Writers Week and we can’t wait to welcome her to our school.
