Loreto College Parents' Association comprises of a group of volunteer parents with two parents representing each year. Parents are elected at the annual AGM (September) and hold their positions for a period of two or three years. The Parents’ Association remit is to support the College, the Principal, the Senior Management team and the Board of Management in a social, proactive manner. In this way the Association supports the spirit of community involving parents in the life of Loreto College Foxrock.

TY Careers Night for Students  - January 12th 2016

‘Insight informs Decisions’

Our 4th Year Parent Representatives Michelle Davis and Caoimhe O’Neill assisted our three Loreto Foxrock Guidance teachers and Ms Early, TY Coordinator, in organising this years’ TY Careers Evening for students.

The evening involved six speakers each of whom gave a ten minute presentation on their career journey; what they studied in college, their post-graduate years and a description of their current role. There was a broad range of careers represented -   Medicine, Financial Trading, Consumer Psychology, Beauty Therapy/ Personal Training, Marketing and the Law.

Students found the content very interesting. Their feedback included that the sessions gave them a greater awareness of a wider range of options open to them, from Leaving Certificate subject choices and college opportunities, to career options. Many made the connection with the importance of subject choices now, vis a vis future options.

The students also found it helpful to discover that there are a variety of pathways into many careers, apart from the standard college courses (options are available!)

Each of our speakers gave time at the end for student questions.

All in all it was a very successful evening where students and career professionals connected. We are very grateful to our Guidance Counsellors, Ms. O’Malley, Ms. Henry, Ms. O’Connell, our TY coordinator Ms Early and of course all the speakers for their time and valuable advice.

Literacy  2013-2014

Information for Parents/Guardians

For the school year 2013-2014, there will be a focus on raising the standards of literacy among all of our students as part of the Department of Education and Science’s Skills Self-Evaluation process. In particular, all teachers will focus on improving the confidence of students spelling the key words across all subject areas.
We are eager to involve parents in our literacy initiative so please do avail of opportunities to check your daughter’s spellings of subject key terms and encourage her to recheck all of her written assignments.
If you have any queries or suggestions to make regarding this initiative, please email them to
